The idea of Central Coast Jiu-Jitsu Academy LLC began when Jeffery Martinez began a Jiu-Jitsu club in Nashville, TN at a YMCA in 2006. Jeffery’s passion for Gracie Jiu-Jitsu/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu led him to start his own business. Jeffery later served in the U.S. Army serving with the elite 82nd Airborne Division as a forward observer. He deployed with his unit for a tour in Afghanistan summer of 2012. While he served, he continued his study and practice of Jiu-Jitsu and went through their Army Combatives School.
After completing his active duty term of enlistment with an Honorable discharge, Jeffery returned to California to settle along the Central Coast. He saw that there was a need for a Jiu-Jitsu school that offered a complete comprehensive system of self-defense within an organized structured curriculum. In 2016 Central Coast Jiu-Jitsu Academy LLC was opened in Nipomo, CA and is currently a certified independent academy under the Jiu-Jitsu Global Federation (Rickson Gracie's Organization). Through the JJGF our goal is to provide our community with an opportunity to learn Jiu-Jitsu in a safe non-ego driven academy and dedicated to providing you high quality Gracie Jiu-Jitsu instruction.
